Stashbar is a Chrome extension for organizing bookmarks. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data We Collect
Information you provide
- Google account email address — collected when you sign in, used to identify your account and sync your bookmarks across devices.
- Bookmarks (Spaces, Groups, Stashes) — the URLs and titles you choose to save. This is the core function of the extension.
- Subscription status — whether you are on a Free, Pro, or Legend plan. Used to enforce feature limits.
Information we do NOT collect
- Browsing history (we only know URLs you explicitly bookmark)
- Passwords or credentials (authentication is handled by Google)
- Financial information (payments are processed by Stripe)
- Location data
- Website content
- Health information
How We Use Your Data
All data is used exclusively for Stashbar's single purpose — saving, organizing, and syncing your bookmarks:

Data Storage & Security
- Your bookmarks and account data are stored in Firebase Firestore, a secure cloud database provided by Google.
- Data is protected by Firestore security rules that ensure you can only access your own data.
- Authentication is handled through Google OAuth2 — your Google password is never seen or stored by Stashbar.
- Tab hibernation state is stored locally on your device using
chrome.storage.local and is never transmitted.
Third-Party Services
Stashbar uses the following third-party services to operate:

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party beyond these essential services. Your data is never used for advertising, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to Stashbar's functionality.
Data Retention
- Your data is stored as long as your account exists.
- Tab hibernation data is stored locally on your device and is removed when tabs are closed.
- If you sign out or uninstall the extension, your local data is removed. Your cloud data remains until you delete it.
Your Rights
- You can delete your data at any time by removing Spaces, Groups, and Stashes from within the extension.
- You can sign out at any time from the Account panel.
- To completely delete all your cloud data, contact us (see below).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
